Gluten free Yule log recipe
Full on chocolate is called for. From the sponge, to the filling to the gorgeous silky buttercream bark of this delicious yule log. This gluten free recipe is so quick and easy to make, making sure everyone can have a tasty treat this Christmas.

Ingredients.
- 4Â eggs
- 75 g Gluten Free Self raising flour
- 100 g Caster sugar
- 1 tbsp Gluten free cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp caster sugar for rolling
Filling
- 2 tbsp Nutella
- Butter cream Icing
- 175 g Icing sugar
- 100 g butter softened
- 1 tbsp Gluten free cocoa powder
- Icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180c / gas mark 4
- Grease and line a Swiss roll tin
- Break the eggs into a large bowl and add the 100g caster sugar
- With an electric whisk, beat until thick, pale and creamy. The beaters should leave a trail when lifted.
- Sieve in the flour and cocoa powder and fold in carefully.
- Pour into the Swiss roll tin and level.
- Bake for 15 Minutes.
- Once baked, tip out of the tin, onto a sheet of grease proof sprinkled with the 1 tbsp of caster sugar. Peel off the baking paper.
- Trim the crispy edges.
- Roll up with the sugared grease proof and leave to cool.
- Once cooled, unroll and spread with Nutella.
- Re roll.
- To make the icing, beat the butter with the sieved icing sugar and cocoa powder. Add a splash of milk if to stiff to spread.
- Spread the butter cream icing over the top of the log and use a for to make the bark texture.
- Sprinkle with a little icing sugar for a snowy look!
