Cooking with Kids?
This is a great recipe to make with children. Get them to help with the weighing and measuring. Kids love to help mixing up the cobbles and cutting them out too. Just ensure caution is taken when placing in and taking out of the oven.
What fruit is best?
My choice for the fruit are eating apples as they keep their shape when cooking as opposed to cooking apples which break down in the cooking process. I also prefer to use frozen blueberries that have been defrosted as they are usually a better price per kilo than fresh.
Is it Vegan?
This recipe is suitable for people following a gluten free diet and vegetarians. The recipe could be adapted for a vegan diet, by substituting the butter for vegan margarine. The replacing the milk with any plant based milk you choose.
Do I need any specialist equipment?
The only specialist equipment you’ll need is a cutter for the rounds, but if you don’t have one. You could shape them with your hands or use a glass to cut them out.
