With just a few ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up this delightful dish in no time.

I love waffles for breakfast and they have now become a great weekend tradition in the Cartwright household. I will never regret getting a waffle iron. Waffles are so versatile.
You can eat the sweet or savoury and at every meal if you so wish. You can also flavour them with lots of different additions. Plus the toppings you choose are almost limitless.
These chocolate waffles, topped with cinnamon blueberry compote and toasted hazelnuts is our new favourite. I’m sure you will love them too!
Cooking with Kids?
This is a great recipe to make with children. Get them to help with the weighing and measuring. Kids love to help mixing up the batter too. Just ensure caution is taken when using the hot waffle iron.
Are these chocolate waffles Vegan?
This recipe is suitable for people following a gluten free diet and vegetarians. The recipe could be adapted for a vegan diet, by substituting the milk for soya or almond milk. The replacing the eggs with either a flax seed egg. I have a great egg replacement guide here.
Do I need any specialist equipment?
Yes, you do. A waffle iron is vital for creating these amazing breakfast waffles. They come in all shapes and sizes. I have a square four set, electric waffle iron.
