Finding a good gluten free bread can be a real struggle. The loaves are way too small, overpriced and often come with massive holes in them. After buying one too many rubbish loaves of bread I’ve decided to start baking my own.
Before I started baking I did some research on current recipes and found them over complicated and with different levels or success. This recipes is simple, easy and quick. It always makes a good loaf of bread.
Made with UK measurements and a small ingredients list. No xanthum gum or physillum husk needed. What’s stopping you baking up a batch today?
If you’ve previously baked bread you need to forget all the rules about bread making. No kneading is required and the mixture is very wet when made. Just pour it into the tin and bake it
I have been known to tear straight into a loaf when it comes out of the oven as it smells so good. My favourite way to enjoy this bread is with butter and homemade jam. It also toasts up well after a day or two.

Cooking with Kids?
This is a great recipe to make with children. Get them to help with the weighing and measuring. Kids love to help mixing up the bread batter too. Just ensure caution is taken when placing in and taking out of the oven.
Is it Vegan?
This recipe is suitable for people following a gluten free diet and vegans.
Do I need any specialist equipment?
For this recipe I recommend using two 1lb bread tins. But you could also try a tray for a foccacia style or a muffin tin for making little dinner rolls.

Liked my easy gluten free bread?
You’ll love
I followed the exact instructions and my bread didn’t rise at all. I have had it sitting out almost all day and it has done nothing. I don’t know what I did wrong.
If It didnt rise after 30 minutes it’s probably that the yeast hasn’t activated. This could be because its too cold, the yeast won’t be activated, too hot and you’ll kill the yeast, or not enough food, if you missed out the sugar. Or the yeast is old.
