This is a great recipe to make with children. Get them to help with the weighing and measuring. Kids love to help mixing up the cookie dough too. Just ensure caution is taken when placing in and taking out of the oven.

Is it Vegan?

This recipe is suitable for people following a gluten free diet and vegetarians. The recipe could be adapted for a vegan diet, by substituting the margarine for vegan margarine.

The replacing the eggs with either a flax seed egg or peanut butter could work too. I have a great egg replacement guide here.

You could also replace the M&M’s for vegan chocolate drops as I’ve yet to find a good replacement that is both gluten free and vegan.

Do I need any specialist equipment?

This recipe is made using cup measures which are more commonly used in American recipes. You can pick them up easily from cookware shops or amazon.

Peanut butter M&M cookies

Indulge in these delicious gluten-free peanut butter M&M cookies. The perfect combination of crunchy M&Ms and crumbly cookie dough, baked to perfection! Enjoy this classic treat that's easy to make and sure to satisfy your sweet tooth

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/4 caster sugar
  • 3/4 cup soft brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups gluten free self raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 packet Peanut butter M and M’s

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180c / gas mark 4. Line the baking sheets.
  2. Cream the margarine and sugars
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla
  4. Stir in the flour
  5. Stir in the peanut butter m and m’s
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cookie dough onto the baking trays, spaced well apart.
  7. Bake for 10 minutes
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on the baking sheets before transferring to an air tight container.
